ORTHOPEDIC TRAUMATOLOGICAL AND SPORTS SURGERY
PROFESSOR Jean-Luc RHENTER was initially Professor of Orthopedic, Traumatology and Sports Surgery at the Academy of Lyon and University of Saint-Etienne (France). He currently practices in Switzerland (Geneva-Lausanne) and as the Director of the International Center for Orthopedic, Trauma and Sports Surgery (CICOTS), he also occasionally practices in France, Italy and Russia.
A pioneer in many areas of orthopedic surgery and sports medicine, his experience together with the surgical and preventive techniques he has developed have led to him becoming the surgeon of choice for many high performing athletes in a variety of sports and in particular major football teams (Sampdoria de Genoa, AS Roma).

He can offer his patients original surgical techniques for osteoarthritis, in particular for the knee and the ankle, as well as Cartilage Grafts and Customised Prostheses notably for the knee and hip.
He has also developed many other surgical techniques, some of which are used worldwide such as :
• Dual mobility cups in hip prostheses
• Repairs to cruciate ligaments with multiple bundles
• Meniscal transplants
• Repairs of the postero-external knee support
• Repairs of ankle laxities
• Hallux Valgus corrections without metallic material
• Major repairs to the rotator cuff of the shoulder
